Assistant to the President’s Executive Secretary at the Flagstaff House, Ibrahim Adjei, has indicated that a budget has been set aside for the maintenance of the University of Ghana sports Stadium after the 13th African Games.

The University of Ghana stadium, which is one of the venues hosting the 13th African Games hosts Athletics, 3×3 Basketball, Weightlifting, Arm Wrestling, Rugby, Speed ball, and Pickle ball.

In an interview with Citi Sports, Ibrahim highlighted that the University Of Ghana won’t be affected by the negative maintenance culture practiced on other facilities in the country.

“When you add value you want to also maintain value. There’s a budgetary allocation for the maintenance of the University of Ghana Sports stadium. It’s captured within every annual budget, expenditure captures a maintenance budget, just as you will have a budget for paying your bills, there’s a whole maintenance budget allocated.”

“We are determined as a country, to make sure that when we say development and freedom, we are adding value to it. What we want is for the nation and every state institution to be prosperous. We met a deficit in our sports infrastructure, and we are making sure that we are adding a legacy that generations can leverage upon and make good use of these things.”
